With plenty of storage and spam protection, you can send and receive e-mail with ease, reliability, and speed. In addition, registered TUT4Life users are able to access the Internet in computer labs, ERCs, and i-Centres via their TUT4Life accounts. Getting started is easy. Follow these steps.
How it works
You must be a registered student at TUT to access this integrated service. The 50GB email and 1TB SkyDrive account you’ll receive once you’re a TUT student will be automatically created with additional access to other Microsoft tools. Your account must be reset in order to be activated.
Steps to reset your account:
- You can open any browser by clicking Start, Internet Explorer, or Open Any Browser
- Enter the URL http://tut4life.tut.ac.za/
- You can reset your password by clicking “Reset My Password”
- Click on Submit after entering your student ID number
- You have now changed your password to one that you created yourself. Remember to follow all Password Rules!
- Choose a new password now. The following criteria should be noted when choosing a password
- You can access your email after two minutes if you confirm your new password and wait for it to sync.
Password Criteria
- Four of the following categories must be included in the password:
- Characters from A to Z in uppercase
- Lowercase characters (a through z)
- Numbers from 0 to 9 based on base 10
- Special characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/
- Minimum password length is eight characters, maximum is sixteen characters
- Passwords may not contain your student number
- Four consecutive numbers cannot be used in a password
- It is not permitted for the password to contain a user’s account name (full name and surname).
