6 February 2023
A memorial service will be held at TUT on 2 February 2023 for third-year Integrated Communication student, Ntokozo Manyenzi Xaba, who met her untimely death on 2 February 2023, in what appears to be an instance of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
TUT’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Tinyiko Maluleke, announced that the memorial service will take place on Thursday, 9 February at 10:00 at the Student Center on the Soshanguve South Campus.
It is a time of mourning for the TUT community. Staff members are grieving, and our students are inconsolable. We send our deepest condolences to the Xaba family on behalf of the University Council and the University community at large,” he said.
Xaba’s death will also be marked by an institution-wide week of mourning, according to Prof Maluleke. At all campuses, TUT’s flag will be flown half-mast until the week’s end as a sign of mourning.
