Kennedy Tsimba, a renowned figure in South African rugby, has been appointed as one of the new coaches for the Vodacom Blue Bulls Rugby team, working alongside Jake White.

A Stellar Playing Career
Kennedy Tsimba boasts an impressive playing career, having represented both the Cheetahs and Blue Bulls during his time as a rugby player.
Known for his exceptional scoring ability, Tsimba earned the title of “King of Bloemfontein” by the media, thanks to his record of becoming the fastest South African player to reach 1,000 points in professional competitions.
Such a remarkable achievement led to his induction into the prestigious World Rugby Hall of Fame in the class of 2012.
Transition to Coaching Success
Following his retirement from professional rugby, Tsimba transitioned into coaching and demonstrated great vision and level-headedness while leading the TUT Vikings Rugby team to success. In 2022, he guided the team to victory in the Varsity Cup Young Guns, showcasing his coaching prowess.
Eager to Contribute to Blue Bull’s Legacy
Expressing his excitement about his new role, Tsimba shared his eagerness to contribute to the rich history and tradition of the Vodacom Blue Bulls Rugby team. Being a powerhouse in the rugby world, the Blue Bulls offer Tsimba an incredible opportunity to make a significant impact.

Tsimba expressed gratitude for his time as the TUT Rugby Head Coach, reflecting on the positive culture instilled in the team both on and off the field. Notably, he praised the players’ dedication to excelling not only in sports but also in academics—a quality he deeply appreciates about TUT players.
Balancing Responsibilities
Despite his new role at the Blue Bulls, Tsimba will continue to coach the TUT rugby team until the end of the President’s League. The team is currently preparing for the quarterfinals with both senior teams, and Tsimba is proud of the achievements they have made, including reaching two finals, the U/20 Shield and the USSA 15s, in July.
