The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has implemented a new direct payment system implemented by the Tshwane University of Technology Department of Education (TUDE).

The high bank charges students have to deal with on this new funding system have caused concern among university students across the country over the past week.

South African Union of Students and NSFAS have met to try and resolve this issue, but there have been no updates to the students.

The third block of university classes is set to begin next week.
