TUT Strengthens International Ties with Henan Polytechnic University. The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and Henan Polytechnic University, China, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a result of bilateral institutional engagements since 2022.

TUT’s DVC for Research, Innovation and Engagement, Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, said the MoU is important because it will: “Allow the two institutions to develop and expand on fruitful collaborations that will benefit staff and students.”

In addition to leading to joint research publications in top international journals, the expansion of academic exchange programmes will provide more opportunities for funding applications between the two institutions.

Both universities will produce more future-ready Masters and Doctoral students by co-supervising postgraduate students,” she said.

The objective of the Memorandum includes, but is not limited to:

  • Programmes for short- and long-term academic exchanges for staff and students.
  • Providing postdoctoral fellowships and supervising postgraduate students jointly.
  •  Taking part in research projects together.
  •  Material and knowledge sharing among academics.
  •  Application for joint funding of research.
