These programmes, offered at NQF Level 8, provide graduates with the opportunity to advance their academic and professional careers in fields such as Information Technology, Multimedia Computing, Informatics, and Computer Science. With flexible learning options and recognized qualifications, TUT ensures that students gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market.

TUT Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science Online Applications (PDRS21)

Admission Requirements (NQF Level 8)

To qualify for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, applicants must hold one of the following:

  • An Advanced Diploma in Computer Science
  • A Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) in Information Technology
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • An equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification with 120 credits

Preference will be given to students who achieved at least 60% average in their previous qualification.

Candidates holding other equivalent South African or internationally recognized qualifications may also be considered. Refer to Chapter 1 of the TUT Student Rules and Regulations for more details.

  • Mode of Study: Day classes, conveniently scheduled on Saturdays
  • Duration: Two years
  • Campus: Offered at Soshanguve South Campus

TUT Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Systems Engineering Online Applications (PDYE21)

The Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Systems Engineering (PDYE21) at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), is designed for graduates who want to advance their knowledge in computer systems and industrial technologies.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for this NQF Level 8 programme, applicants must hold one of the following:

  • An Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Engineering or Electronics.
  • A Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) in Computer Systems, Electronics, or Information Technology (specializing in Intelligent Industrial Systems).
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 7 with a minimum of 120 credits.

Additional Notes:

  • Preference is given to candidates who achieved at least 60% average in their previous qualification.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Informatics (PDIF21) offered by the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is an advanced NQF Level 8 qualification designed for students aiming to build expertise in Information Systems, Informatics, Business Applications, Knowledge Management, and Business Information Systems.

NQF Level and Admission Requirements

  • NQF Level: 8
  • Minimum qualification required:
    • An Advanced Diploma in Informatics, OR
    • A Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) in Information Technology with a focus on:
      • Business Applications
      • Knowledge Management
      • Information Management
      • Business Information Systems
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Informatics or Information Systems, OR
    • An equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification with at least 120 credits.

TUT Postgraduate Diploma in Multimedia Computing Online Applications (PDMC21)

NQF Level 8 Admission Requirements

To qualify for the Postgraduate Diploma in Multimedia Computing (NQF Level 8) at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Hold an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia Computing, or
  • A Baccalaureus Technologiae: Information Technology specializing in Multimedia, or
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 7 with 120 credits.

Preference will be given to candidates who achieved 60% or higher in their previous qualification.
Applicants with other equivalent South African or international qualifications may also be considered. (Refer to Chapter 1 of the Students’ Rules and Regulations.)

  • Mode of study: Day classes, scheduled on Saturdays, spread over two years.
