The Directorate of Finance: Expenditure (Procurement Services) has a permanent position for a Deputy Director Procurement at the Pretoria Campus.
The position requires someone who will be able to manage the department of Procurement Services and thereby enable the rendering of cost-effective services towards the acquisition, supply, and delivery of quality of goods, services and equipment, as well as contracting of equipment that is needed for the effective operation of Tshwane University of Technology.

Key performance areas
- Ensuring competitiveness of TUT by provision of effective and effective supply chain management function
- Administration and advisory services TUT SCM committees
- Management of contracting process for suppliers and service providers
- Official representative of TUT to PURCO
- Administrator of the TUT Tender Committee
- Management of departmental human and financial resources
- Initiate policy development and monitor implementation
- Contribute in strategic planning
Minimum Requirements
Academic qualifications
- NQF level 8 a4 year qualification(Honoursin Supply Chain Management or Accounting) with a minimum of 480 credits.
Experience
- 4 years’ experience in Procurement and Tenders at Management/ Specialist/ Professional level
Knowledge& Skills
- A workable knowledge of the ITS(PMIS) system is essential
- Knowledge of Contractual Law and general law impacting on the function (PPP Act, PFMAct)
- Planning techniques
- Knowledge of Tender procedures, laws, and regulations
- Financial aspects relating to purchasing and logistics
