The Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment in the Department of Geomatics has 4 X part-time lecturer positions for semester 2 of 2023 at the Pretoria West Campus.
Part-time lecturers are needed for the following Subjects: Rural and Urban Planning, Geographic Information Technology II, Computer Survey Drawing (X 2 PT lecturers), Geodesy and Map Projections I.

Minimum requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Honours (NQF 8) or master’s degree (NQF 9) in Geomatics or a related field where there is strong focus on the following subjects: Rural and Urban Planning, Geographic Information Technology II, Computer Survey Drawing (X 2 PT lecturers).
Core functions
- Setting, preparing and conducting lectures for the subjects
- Prepare practicals and assignments
- Setting assessments and evaluation thereof
- Marking assignments and tests
- Participating in departmental meetings and subject meetings
- General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks on IT system, uploading documents on myTutor and compiling subject file(s)
- Student consultation
Experience
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written communication) is a prerequisite
- Proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs
- Proven ability in using teaching technology
- Industry and/ or Teaching Experience preferable
- Practical field experience will be an advantage
- Knowledge of laboratory management, SHE requirements and good laboratory practice will be a plus
Registration with professional body (if applicable)
Preference will be given to individuals registered with South African Geomatics Council (SAGC)
