The Directorate of Library and Information Services has Part-Time Information Librarian/Information Literacy Training Librarian position for day, evening and Saturdays at the Durban learning site for July – December 2023.
TUT Part-Time Information Librarian Durban Learning Site
Key Performance Areas
- Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the library during the day, evenings and Saturdays
- Provision of information services to library clients by
- Answering information inquiries
- Conducting literature searches
- Conducting library orientation to new students
- Performance of administrative duties such as the compilation of monthly reports
- Provision of effective and efficient library orientation and database training to staff and students
- Responsible for library SHE (Safety, health and environment) of the library
Minimum Requirements
Academic qualifications
- Degree in Library and Information Science or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF Level 7)
- Three years’ relevant experience
- Extensive and proven knowledge of electronic databases utilised by academic libraries
- Experience in managing a library or a section/division of a library
- Experience in information literacy training
- Good communication and customer relations skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in English
- Own transport
