The Advancement and Partnerships Office has a 12 months contract for the Fundraising Consultant position at the Pretoria Campus.

We are seeking a fundraising consultant to join the Advancement and Partnerships Office. You will be responsible for identifying potential sponsors and donors, as well as securing their support for University identified projects, infrastructure development, bursaries, and scholarships

Critical Performance Areas

  • Accurate management and maintenance of donor support.
  • Ensure all fundraising initiatives and donor records comply with internal policies and procedures
  • Identify and approach potential sponsors, donors, and granters
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both local and international donors
  • Create and maintain donor database
  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, engagements and activities
  • Conduct research and write proposals
  • Account for and track donations
  • Create and maintain financial reports for donors and sponsors
  • Gather information for grant proposals
  • Prepare budgets and financial reports
  • Maintain donors and sponsors  records and files
  • Create multiple, multimillion-sustainable income streams

Minimum Requirements

  • A recognized and relevant 4-year qualification in Marketing/Public Relations/Social Sciences
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience preferably in Corporate Management, fundraising partnerships, and civil society organizations in:
  • Sourcing funding from corporations, individual enterprises, funding agencies, trusts, and foundations (proven track record)
  • Donor interaction, cultivation, and stewardship (proven track record)
  • Administration processes related to fundraising
  • Building funding relationships
  • Ability to work independently with corporate, government & other universities external stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong analytical
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Data processing skills
  • People management
  • Reporting skills
