TUT Expands Its Global Footprint Through Partnerships and Collaboration
The biggest contact university in South Africa, TUT, has agreements with universities and institutions worldwide, which allows a range of activities to be undertaken. As part of these, academic staff and students exchange programs, research collaborations, supervisions of postgraduate students, dual doctorate programmes (Cotutelle), and cultural understanding and cooperation all contribute to building our teaching and learning expertise.

Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Engagement.
As one of the African continent’s leading academic and research dynamos, TUT partners with partners across the globe to inform its teaching and learning as well as its cutting-edge research and innovation. Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor responsible for Research, Innovation, Internationalization and Postgraduate Studies, expressed her appreciation for these partnerships.
Knowledge is translated into action at our university and we pioneer innovative thinking and successful strategic partnerships around the world. The universities are becoming increasingly globalized, just like businesses, thus universities are forming strategic alliances and strengthening ties with foreign universities in order to provide students with international experiences as well as enhance their hard, soft, and cross-cultural skills,” she said.
“As contemporary universities operating in a global and competitive environment, international student recruitment and mobility will continue to be important tools for international students,” said Dr Papu-Zamxaka.
There are several countries collaborating with TUT, including Sweden, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Russia, Ireland, Australia, and the USA.
