TUT Bursary and Scholarship Fund Support 2023 R 1.4 Million Funding

Dear TUT Staff Members
TUT Bursary and Scholarship Fund Support
In my capacity as the Vice-Chancellor & Principal, I hereby humbly express my appreciation for your generous monthly and once-off contributions towards the TUT Bursary and Scholarship Fund.
The Fund has been established as a kind of endowment fund where a capital base is built up over time and invested in high interest funds. Proceeds from the TUT B&SF awards bursaries are awarded to selected best-performing students in their final year. Many of these students come from the
“missing middle” group who do not qualify for NSFAS funding.
The Fund has experienced steady growth since its first rollout of bursaries in 2021. In the year 2022, the fund allocated 28 bursaries worth a total of R1 370 251,17 Million.
Without your contribution, the fund would not have grown as much as it has over the past two years. However, the need is still great. The Tshwane University of Technology has several thousand of missing middle students whose financial need are far greater than our current fund. We therefore urge you to continue supporting the fund and spread the message to other friends and alumni of TUT.
