TUT and Supersport United FC Form Historic Partnership

TUT and Supersport United FC Form Historic Partnership. TUT is pleased to announce its exciting partnership with SuperSport United, resulting in the establishment of a ladies’ football club called TUT Matsatsantsa.

The university and SuperSport United partnered for the club to play all its first team and DStv Diski Challenge matches at the university in 2023/24.

TUT and Supersport United FC Form Historic Partnership

As the high-performance team ladies, the TUT team affectionately known as #RedArmy was formed in 2009.

The TUT Ladies FC currently plays in the SAFA National Women’s League: Hollywood Bets Super League, where they have finished 2nd since its inception in 2019-2020 and 2021 seasons, and Varsity Football, where they have won six straight times from 2014 to 2019, as well as National Institutional Championships of USSA football.

This is a historic day for SuperSport United, according to CEO Stanley Matthews.

In a statement, Dr Shadrack Nthangeni, Executive Director of Student Affairs and Extracurricular Development (SAED), said, “We are very proud and excited about this momentous partnership with SuperSport United.”.

“With this partnership, we will achieve our strategic goal of producing future-ready graduates who perform brilliantly in both sport and academics.

The importance of women’s football, both locally and globally, should also be highlighted. We are here to be part of this important occasion – to be able to play a significant role in helping women reach their full potential in sport and society,” says Dr Nthangeni.
