TUT and Schmalkalden University Sign Cooperation Agreement

A cooperation agreement has been signed between TUT and Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Among the initiatives of the two universities will be the promotion of academic exchanges for faculty and students, strengthening joint research and co-supervision of postgraduate students, facilitating guest lectures for undergraduate programs, and ensuring international co-funding applications.

A Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Engagement, Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, praised the MOU as a fantastic opportunity for the University. The cooperation agreement will be implemented in teaching and research at both universities, she explained.

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences – Germany.

The partnership agreement will also promote work placement opportunities for our students in South African companies that are based in Germany, in line with our goal of producing future-ready graduates. Dr Papu-Zamxaka said that both institutions would also engage in mobility for administrative personnel in order to build capacity in internationalisation.

“ South Africa and Germany are committed to establishing this relationship, in the hope that it will pave the way for academic leadership in both countries,” she said.
