A call for international bursary applications for the 2023 academic year is being released by the National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC).
Undergraduate and postgraduate studies in craft, dance, literature, multidisciplinary studies, music, theatre, and visual arts are invited.
As long as the grant requirements are met every year and the grant conditions are adhered to, the grant will be renewable until the end of the course.
Applicants for this call for International Bursary Funding must have been admitted to their preferred institution of higher learning, especially those with recognition of prior learning. Applications are welcome from new and existing students studying abroad.
A number of factors will be considered when assessing the applicants, including artistic merit, financial need, acceptance at the identified institution, credibility of the qualification they wish to pursue, and prestige of the institution where the applicant has been accepted. Council approval is required for the annual grant of no more than R250 000.

Funds will be allocated according to the priorities of the NAC. Funding is not automatic for all applicants. The NAC is responsible for all funding.
