The Department of Home Affairs seeks to employÂ
A National Pathway Management Network was established by the Department of Home Affairs, DHA, and Harambee to employ 240 unemployed youth as RUNNERS to digitize DHA documents.
As part of its efforts to improve service delivery, the DHA has begun digitizing over 350 million paper records.
Using fixed-term contracts, the DHA seeks to assist the Presidential Employment Stimulus program in creating jobs and achieving its strategic priorities.
Duties include:Â
- Shelves are retrieved and files are retrieved.
- The sorting and listing of files.Â
- Sort by document size, remove staples and paper clips, and insert separator sheets before scanning documents.Â
- Files should be sorted in batches.
- Document and file numbering.
Role requirement
WHO CAN APPLY?Â
- Citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 from South Africa.
- It is sufficient to have a Diploma in Documents and Records Management, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
- There are no criminal records.
The following documents must be presented if you have been shortlisted for further consideration:
- Copy of certified qualifications.
- Copy of certified identity document.
A suitability check will be performed on successful candidates (Citizenship, Credit, Criminal and Qualification Verification).
There will be a 3 year contract ending in May or June 2026 (roughly between May and June 2023). When the appointment is made, the project duration will be outlined in a contract.
