SAB Foundation Social Innovation and Disability Empowerment Awards 2023

South Africa: SAB Foundation Social Innovation and Disability Empowerment Awards 2023
DEADLINE: 27 March 2023
SAB Foundation Awards 2023
Social innovations are products, processes, and services that address social problems and are developed by entrepreneurs and social innovators. Business prototypes and businesses in the early stages of development are supported by the program.
Through challenge funding and tailored mentoring, SAB Foundation seeks, supports, and scales social innovations that contribute to quality of life on a direct and indirect basis. Additionally, they define social innovation as innovation that solves a social problem while demonstrating a sustainable business model, with a focus on innovation that benefits women, youth, people with disabilities, or rural populations.
Innovations are judged according to the following criteria:
- What is the originality of the solution, and is it a new production method or business model?
- What is the social impact of the innovation on the target groups of the SAB Foundation? Can it solve a serious social problem?
- What is the commercial viability of the innovation or solution? Is it sustainable?
- Job creation: Is there potential for the creation of direct and indirect sustainable jobs currently or in the future?
