737 unemployed youth will be employed as Re-Assemblers for the digitization of the department of home affairs records by the Department of Home Affairs, DHA, in partnership with Harambee and the Department of Employment and Labour, DEL.

The DHA is digitizing over 350 million paper records to improve service delivery by converting them to electronic format.

Using fixed-term contracts, the DHA seeks to assist the Presidential Employment Stimulus program in creating jobs and achieving its strategic priorities.

Duties include:

  • Retrieval of files digitised.
  • Return files to shelves.
  • Verify files with initial files received from source.

Role requirement

WHO CAN APPLY? 

  • Citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 from South Africa.
  • You must have a Diploma in Documents and/or Records. An information technology or management degree.
  • There are no criminal records.

The following documents must be presented if you have been shortlisted for further consideration:

  • Copy of certified qualifications.
  • Copy of certified identity document.

Candidate selection is subject to suitability screenings (Citizenship, Credit, Criminal, and Qualification Verification).

There will be a 3 year contract ending in May or June 2026 (roughly between May and June 2023). When the appointment is made, the project duration will be outlined in a contract.
