Grounds Keeper X7 Department Landscape Services Soshanguve South Campus Building and Estates

Department of Landscape Services have Grounds keeper x 7 positions available at Soshanguve Campus. The University reserves the right not to make an appointment. Grounds Keeper X7 Department Landscape Services Soshanguve South Campus Building and Estates

Minimum requirements

  • Methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in gardening work such as: planting, cultivating, and caring for lawns, trees, shrubs and sports facilities.
  • Safe operation and appropriate use of grounds maintenance and equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Sports turf maintenance
  • Supervisory management
  • Invasive alien vegetation control
  • Botanical gardens maintenance
  • Arboriculture
  • Formative pruning techniques
  • Installing gabion baskets
  • Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment related to grounds maintenance work in a safe and effective manner.
  • Perform general grounds work including mowing, watering, weeding, aerating, fertilizing, trimming, and caring for lawns and other planted areas.
  • Install, trim, prune and groom trees, shrubs, and flowers.

 Academic qualifications

  • NQF level 1
  • General Education and Training
  • Grade 9/Abet Level a National Certificates

Experience

  • 1 (One) Year relevant experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of basic landscaping maintenance.
  • Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
  • Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Personal Productive Clothing (PPC)
  • Communication Skills
  • Coordination and planning skills.
