She reports on the domestic and international film industry in addition to her academic duties for Radio Sonder Grense (RSG). She won national media awards for her work in the latter capacity.

When asked how the Future Professors Programme will benefit her professional advancement, she replied: “I always look forward to pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and learning from others.

In academia, we usually only engage scholars in our own field or at our own university, so what excites me about this opportunity is the opportunity to meet and interact with scholars from across the country..” Film Lecturer

This two-year fellowship is open to qualified scholars from all South African universities every year. Approximately 30 fellows are in each of three cohorts.

Through this programme, synergies will be fostered that will benefit the fellows once they enter the professoriate, and will also benefit the next generation of South Africans. Film Lecturer
